Andrea Simoncini is currently Full Professor of Constitutional Law at the Department of Law at the University of Florence where he teaches in the School of Law and Economics.
He taught at several Universities in Italy and abroad.
He is a member of the Steering Committe of the “Ente Cassa di Risparmio” of Florence and of the Board of the Opera di Santa Maria del Fiore.
He is the author of important publications related to constitutional freedoms, the sources of law and the territorial autonomies expressing a keen sensitivity to the institutional, historical and cultural implications of constitutional law.
He has recently published (in 2016) the volume Italian Constitutional Justice in Global Context along with other authors for Oxford University Press.
In 2015 he edited the volume Pope Benedict XVI’s Legal Thought along with Marta Cartabia for Cambridge University Press.
He is the author of several publications in Italian and English.
