Faces that build… Irene
Irene is a teacher; she attended the Meeting as a girl and then in 2013 and 2019 she volunteered at the restaurant. The Meeting for her is the place of the heart, “it is a moment in which a person can experience a different life”, she says enthusiastically.
For Irene, in the Rimini week we find the human, what is beautiful, true, and good, and the human is a relationship between people, a gift, reciprocity.
She likes to serve, and at the Meeting she found the opportunity to put herself at the service of others by discovering something she did not imagine: when she volunteered at the restaurant, she realized that she gives to receive, but what you receive is something more than what you give.
For Irene, therefore, donating to the Meeting is a gesture of great value, she has a clear awareness that the value lies in those who donate and not in how materially they give, because the gesture of giving is born of gratitude.
Irene looks at what happens at the Meeting with such amazement, fascinated by what you meet, in every space the human lives. The Meeting is a lung that makes you live the experience of friendship and peace. Today this experience is opposed: individualism, indifference and enmity are often found, the logic of profit and confrontation prevails. At the Meeting the sky is reflected in the great halls of the Rimini Fair, there is unity in the differences for which Irene has no doubts, “the Meeting is an instrument of peace”.
Donating, each one according to his possibilities is therefore fundamental, it is the way in which a person in his simplicity gives his contribution so that the Meeting continues to exist and an experience of humanity and peace grows.
Here lies the value of giving, you give something to the Meeting, so that you empower yourself and giving you receive in humanity, you become more passionate about life and open to the others.
