Angela Lazzaroni, from Milan, is a classical pianist and a piano teacher at the Milan Conservatory and she also works at Meeting 2024 as a volunteer in the shows sector. She encountered Meeting Rimini when she was 20 years old and came here with her parents, getting struck by the conferences she attended, in which she recognised/found great room for dialogue.  As she keeps discovering more about Meeting Rimini over the years, Angela describes it as “A big and thrilling event” by which she is continuously more amazed. “Therefore my husband and I have decided to take part in its creation”.

Her first way to build Meeting Rimini came through her artistic abilities; Angela played in 2002 with her violinist brother and an actor in a show about Mozart, in 2005 she offered a live performance for a Mozart exhibition. In 2023 she played for an environmental exhibition offered by the Regione Lombardia entitled “Leopardi and music”.

Secondly she contributed as a volunteer in the shows department. So Angela started to work as a curator for musical events, mainly those regarding classical pieces from Spirto Gentil. “I empathise with the artist who is playing and I try to understand and respond to their needs, so that the execution can go through in the best setting possible. I put my heart and soul into the preparation of every particular, from the microphones to the restaurant, because I know from my experience that beauty emerges in every concurring aspect of the event. I do everything I can so that the artist feels at ease, because I care that both the artist and those who attend can enjoy a meaningful experience.”

Angela says that it is not an easy task to set up a classical music event here at Meeting Rimini. “Silence is difficult to find and the rehearsal room is to be shared and you can’t just use it whenever you feel like it, thus collaboration is crucial”. Angela is surprised by the fact there is always a way to solve the various issues that arise – so Angela “here at Meeting Rimini I have always met people that use their intelligence”.

“Being a volunteer here represents the opportunity of taking part in a great matter - says Angela - and to do it with our own personal contribution – a small contribution to a great matter. This made me aware of the worth of everyone’s addition, even the smaller ones. This way even donating at the DonaOra desk corroborates to the beauty of Meeting Rimini.”

In the end, Angela says that Meeting Rimini is for everyone and that is possible to meet such beauty even in highly unexpected ways. “One day - she recalls - she brought her piano to a piano renter and tuner. He wasn’t aware of the existence of Meeting Rimini, so after tuning the piano he wanted to know where it was. I told him about the Meeting by inviting him.” Her wish: Let there be Meeting, let it continue in all its beauty, this is the chance for many others, like that tuner, to meet him!”.
