Taormina Salvatore
Born in 1962, he holds a degree in Law and has been an executive of the Sicilian Region since 1989 and is currently General Manager of the Local Self-Government Department of the same regional administration. He ties a significant part of his professional activity to the issues of nonprofit and welfare, which he has also dealt with in the Region of Lombardy, as well as serving as an expert in the Study Commission on Ipabs established in 2000 by the Minister of Social Affairs, as a member of the National Observatory of Associations, and collaborating in research activities with the Fondazione per la Sussidiarietà (Foundation for Subsidiarity), of which he currently coordinates the Institutions and Public Administration Department. Secretary General of the Presidency of the Sicilian Region from 2007 to 2009, he served, among others, as Chief of the President’s Cabinet, General Manager of the Regional Department of Family and Social Policies, General Manager of the Regional Department of Education and Vocational Training, and General Manager of the Regional Department of Finance and Credit. He has done contract teaching at the Faculty of Law of the University of Palermo on the topics of institutional competencies and regional specialty and is currently a member of the Cultural Editorial Board of the Meeting for Friendship among Peoples ETS Foundation.
