Tagliaretti Luca
Luca Tagliaretti is an Italian engineer with a career of more than 20 years in international institutions and organizations, specializing in digital and cybersecurity. He holds a bachelor’s degree in engineering from Politecnico di Milano and completed further studies at Oxford University and Harvard.
Professional background
Prior to joining eu-LISA, the European Agency for the Operational Management of Large-Scale IT Systems in the Area of Freedom, Security and Justice, Tagliaretti worked at the European Central Bank, where he focused on the development of digital anti-counterfeiting technologies. At eu-LISA, he served as deputy executive director and, for a period, also as acting executive director.
In 2014, at the proposal of Foreign Minister Paolo Gentiloni, now European Commissioner, Tagliaretti was awarded the title of Knight of the Order of the Star of Italy by the President of the Republic.
Current assignments
In 2023, Tagliaretti was elected Executive Director of the European Cyber Security Competence Center (ECCC). His term, which began on February 1, 2024, will last four years. As Executive Director, he is responsible for the center’s day-to-day operations, implementation of work programs and budget management, among other things. The ECCC, based in Bucharest, is tasked with strengthening cyber security capabilities at the European level and manages significant investments in the field (EuroCyber Centre) (European Commission) (CyberSecurity Italy).
Acknowledgements
