Giorgetti Giancarlo
Giancarlo Giorgetti is the Minister of Economy and Finance since October 22, 2022. He was born in Cazzago Brabbia, Varese, where he currently resides. He holds a degree in Business Economics from Bocconi University in Milan and is a chartered accountant and certified auditor.
He has been a member of the Chamber of Deputies continuously since 1996. From 2001 to 2006 and from 2008 to 2013, he served as the President of the Budget, Treasury, and Planning Committee of the Chamber of Deputies. In 2006-2007, he was the Vice President of the Foreign Affairs Committee. In April 2013, he was appointed as one of the ten experts for reforms by President Napolitano.
From March 26, 2013, to May 7, 2013, he was the President of the Special Commission for the examination of government acts. From 2013 to 2018, he held the position of President of the Parliamentary Committee for the implementation of Fiscal Federalism. Since March 2014, he has been the head of the Italian part of the Collaboration Group between the United States House of Representatives and the Italian Chamber of Deputies.
Since 2015, he has been the Deputy Secretary of the League Party. From June 1, 2018, to September 4, 2019, he served as the Undersecretary of State for the Presidency of the Council of Ministers with responsibility for Sport in the Conte Government. From February 13, 2021, to October 22, 2022, he held the position of Minister of Economic Development in the Draghi Government.
Since October 22, 2022, he has been the Minister of Economy and Finance in the Meloni Government.
