Sociologist, she graduated in philosophy at the Catholic University of Milan with a thesis on McLuhan and then earned her PhD in Social Sciences at the University of Kent (UK).
Professor of Sociology and Media Anthropology at the Catholic University of Milan, where she also directs the University’s Social Communications magazine.
Married to Mauro Magatti, they have five biological children and one in foster care. Together with her husband, also a sociologist, she published Generatives around the world unite! Manifesto for the society of the free.
With some couples of friends they have founded a family association, Eskenosen, which in partnership with Caritas deals with the reception and accompaniment of migrant families.
