Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation. Sociologist and expert in international politics, she is a specialist in migration and refugees, conflicts, religious issues, minorities. Since 1990 she has conducted intense field research – supported by prestigious institutions – in conflict areas, in particular the Balkans, the Caucasus, Africa and the Middle East. In addition to this, she has a long academic career as a professor and researcher. She was also International Electoral Observer for the UN, the OSCE and the EU. She manages the series of Globolitical. She is a member of the scientific committee of some important Italian and international magazines and series, of some well-known Think Tank and Research Institutes.
