Married and father of 5 children, Giovanni, Therese, Maddalena, Gabriele and Giorgio Maria, Gianluigi De Palo, was the national president of the Family Forum which brings together 19 regional forums and 586 local and national associations representing over 5 million families. He is the president of the Foundation for Birth and creator of the event Stati Generali della Natalità and the project “Immischiati” on active citizenship.

He was a member of the National Council of the Third Sector and a member of the Scientific Committee of the Observatory on the Family of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers; he is currently a member of the National Observatory for Childhood and Adolescence of the Department for Family Policies of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers.

He began his political-social commitment in the organization of the World Youth Day in Rome during the Jubilee of 2000 and gained multiple experiences of solidarity in Africa, between Mozambique, Ethiopia and Tanzania. In 2005 he was elected president of the Acli, Patronato and Caf of Rome. In 2011 he was appointed technical councilor for School, Family, Youth with responsibility for the Municipal Agency for Drug Addiction of the Municipality of Rome. Journalist and writer, he is the author of several publications on the topics of education and family storytelling – in addition to dealing with training on the topic of “Ethical leadership”. Since 2024 he has also been the general director of the Angelini Foundation.
