I was born in Asola on April 12, 1974, I am a mathematician and I live in Mantua with Davide, my husband, and our children Tommaso and Chiara.

I obtained a PhD in mathematics in 2002 and began my academic and research career at the University of Pavia in 2001, first as a researcher and then from 2011 as an associate professor of mathematical analysis.

University teaching, education and research have been at the heart of my professional and life choices. In 2016 I moved to the University of Milan.

I am a scout, and my service has always been in particular for young people.

I was Minister for Equal Opportunities and the Family in the Conte-bis and Draghi governments.

In the 2022 political elections she was elected deputy in the Veneto 2 constituency, she is a member of the XII Social Affairs Commission of the Chamber of Deputies and is a member of the parliamentary delegation to the Council of Europe in Strasbourg.

In October 2023, together with Ettore Rosato and others, she founded PER-Popolari Europeisti Riformatori. The association, of which she is president, was created to involve all those citizens who want to revive political passion and commit themselves to building the common good in Italy and Europe.

On January 29, 2024, she joined Azione.

On March 25, 2024, she was appointed by the Committee on Social Affairs, Health and Sustainable Development of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, General Rapporteur on child participation.

Sono nata ad Asola il 12 aprile 1974, sono una matematica e vivo a Mantova con Davide, mio marito, e i nostri figli Tommaso e Chiara.

Ho conseguito nel 2002 il PhD in matematica e ho iniziato nel 2001 la mia carriera accademica e di ricerca all’Università degli Studi di Pavia, prima come ricercatrice e poi dal 2011 come professoressa associata di analisi matematica.

L’insegnamento universitario, l’educazione e la ricerca sono stati il cuore della mia scelta professionale e di vita. Dal 2016 mi sono trasferita all’Università degli Studi di Milano.

Sono una scout, e il mio servizio è sempre stato in particolare per i giovani.

Sono stata Ministra per le pari opportunità e la famiglia nei governi Conte-bis e Draghi.

Alle elezioni politiche 2022 è stata eletta deputata nel collegio Veneto 2, è componente della XII Commissione Affari sociali della Camera dei deputati ed è membro della delegazione parlamentare presso il Consiglio d’Europa a Strasburgo.

A ottobre 2023, insieme a Ettore Rosato e altri, ha fondato PER-Popolari Europeisti Riformatori. L’associazione, di è presidente, nasce per coinvolgere tutte quelle cittadine e quei cittadini che vogliono rianimare la passione politica e impegnarsi per costruire il bene comune in Italia e in Europa.

Il 29 gennaio 2024 ha fatto il mio ingresso in Azione.

Il 25 marzo 2024 è stata nominata dalla Commissione affari sociali, sanità e sviluppo sostenibile dell’Assemblea parlamentare del Consiglio d’Europa, General Rapporteur on child participation.
