Franca Benini is Head of the Veneto Regional Center for Pain Therapy (TD) and Pediatric Palliative Care (PPC) – Pediatric Hospice of Padua.

She graduated in 1981 in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Padua where she also specialized in Pediatrics, Anesthesia and Resuscitation, Neonatology and Pharmacology. She worked initially in Neonatal ICU and later in Pediatric ICU: in both settings she focused her clinical and research interest on pain and PPC.

In 1983 he initiated the organization of the Veneto Regional Center and Network of TD and CPP to take care throughout the region of children with incurable pathology with high care complexity. In 2007 she opened the first Italian Pediatric Hospice in Padua.

She is the author of more than 300 scientific papers published in national and international journals.
