Becchetti Leonardo

Leonardo Becchetti is a Full Professor of Political Economy at the Faculty of Economics at the University of Rome “Tor Vergata.” He is the director of the specialization course in European Economics and Business Law and the Master’s program in Development and International Cooperation (MESCI). He holds a Master of Science degree in Economics from the London School of Economics and a Ph.D. from the University of Oxford and La Sapienza University of Rome. He has published around four hundred works, including articles in international and national journals, books, contributions to volumes, and research papers. He is ranked among the top 70 economists in the world based on the number of pages published in international journals, according to the REPEC global ranking (March 2014). He served as a member of the board of the Italian Economic Society from 2011 to 2013 and the Executive Committee of Econometica and AICCON. He was the Chairman of the Ethics Committee of Banca Etica from 2005 to 2014 and currently serves on the ethics committee of Etica sgr, a leading ethical investment fund company in Italy. He is the President of the scientific committee of Next – Nuova Economia per Tutti, a member of the preparatory committee of the Social Weeks of Italian Catholics, and the Director of the website www.benecomune.net. He recently became an Advisor to the Minister of the Environment and coordinator of the task force for the Lazio Region, focusing on sustainability and resilience. He is the author of numerous essays, including:
