Stefano Barrese has been the Head of the Banca dei Territori Division since January 15, 2016. He graduated in Economics and Commerce from LUISS University in Rome in 1993 and is registered in the Register of Chartered Accountants and the Register of Official Auditors in Rome. 

 He began his professional career in 1995 at Arthur Andersen and later worked at Erg Petroli. He joined Banco Ambrosiano Veneto in 1998 in the Planning department. After the merger between Banca Intesa and Sanpaolo IMI, he held various roles, including Head of the Capital Management Office in the Planning, Capital Management, and Synergy Control Department, and Head of the Planning Service in the Central Planning and Control Department. Since 2013, he has been part of the Banca dei Territori Division, first as Head of the Management Planning and Control Department and the Marketing Department, and then as Head of the Sales and Marketing Area. 

 Currently, he serves as a board member for ABI, Bancomat, SSD LUISS, Intesa Sanpaolo Innovation Center, and Centai Institute S.p.A.
