Virtual reality
‘This year, thanks to ENEL, it will be possible to experience the world of virtual reality at the Meeting. The public will be able to virtually visit the Basilica of St. Peter’s, entering the Church through the colonnade, passing into the ancient Constantiman nucleus, subsequently demolished to make room for Michelangelo’s achievements. They will also be able to visit the Basilica of St. Francis at Assisi, take a look at Giotto’s frescoes in a town reconstruc-ted with the buildings depicted by the artist. They can tour through Egypt and visit the tomb of Nefertari as it was discovered by the archaeologist Schiaparelli in 1904, and as it appears today after much damage and despi-te restoration. Technologies of the future, powerful interactive graphic systems, will give the spectator the idea of being physically present in the reproduced environment. An exciting adventure to be lived every day from 5th to 26th August, from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. in Pavilion C with admission fee 5,000 or 15,000 lire.’
