The heroes in the city of joy
‘Photographs taken from a shantytown in Calcutta’ is the subtitle of this exhibition. The texts and photos belong to Dominique Lapierre, a Frech writer of world-wide renown: his book ‘The City of joy’ has been read by thirty million people and translated into thirty-one languages. The miracle of joy can rise even from a situation of extre-me poverty, where e various circumstances may easily lead to a sort of degradation of man. This miracle is tightly bound to the life of saints and of men who are constantly involved with solidarity.’
