The days of ingenuity
‘The show presents ‘eight centuries of technological activity in the European Middle Ages’. More than one hundred inventions blossomed in Europe in these centuries, or were rediscovered and given practical and efficient applications. We meet monks who build machi-nes to save time for their prayers and who equip their abbeys with workshops, windmills, looms, forges and everything they need for their many daily needs. This evoca-tive survey benefits from the research of Jean Gimpel and Léo Moulin.’
