T S. ELIOT. Inside the Waste Land, the Rock
In an epoch such as the twentieth century, that judges faith as counrary to liberty and genuine artistic expression, the greatest poet is a Christian writer.
Through sharp quotes enriched by short comments, the exhibition intends to draw the attention on the figure of Thomas Stearns Eliot, non solely to fullfill the unhappy reticence and censure of the critics and researchers on poetic production and the succeeding writings to The Waste Land (work published in 1922), but above all with the precise intention to show the full belonging of the author and of his work to its own time, so much in the themes proposed to the reader as much in the costant profoundity of judgement.
With this it is hoped to stimulate the desire to read again the Eliotian work personally, starting in the meanwhile an even sharper thinking out on the century just passed, along the road illuminated bay the limpid Christian consciousness of the Anglo – American poet.
