RIGHT TO HEALTH AND CHARITY

Organized by Banco Farmaceutico and Medicina e Persona.

Giorgio Bordin (President, Medicina e Persona), Domenico Giani (President, National Confederation of Misericordie d’Italia), Luca Pesenti (Professor of Sociology, Catholic University of the Sacred Heart and Coordinator of the Observatory on Healthcare Poverty of Banco Farmaceutico), Stefano Zamagni (Professor of Political Economy, University of Bologna). Moderated by Sergio Daniotti (President, Banco Farmaceutico).

Our National Health Service is faltering. While its universalism remains a pride when compared to other liberal democracies, its ability to guarantee access to health for all is increasingly restricted, particularly struggling to meet the needs of the most vulnerable. Any discussion on socio-health services should never overlook the Third Sector, which provides at least a fifth of the entire Italian socio-health offer for free.
