‘All the various and contradictory aspects of contemporary music can be found in American music. One of the characteristics of the music from this century is the variety of styles and genres (classical, folk, light, jazz, electronic and computer mu-sic); this being a unique phenomenon in the history of man. In this Babel of styles, it seems that everyone speaks a language which is incomprehensible to everybody else, both in avantguard music and in the other styles. The audiovisual exhibition “Is there still music nowadays?” reveals that the encounter with music, the music that talks to me as man, is still possible today. The exhibition is divided into four sections, each one telling through music and images about one of the crucial points of 20th century music.’
