‘The new exhibition by Camilian Demetrescu, presen-ting 10 wall hangings and 12 tempera paintings, is devoted to symbols of Christian art, set in contrast with the contradic-tions of our time. The core of the exhibit consists of six hie-rophanies (manifestations of the sacred) dealing with pivotal moments of life (birth, bapti-sm, marriage, death, holi-days and work), contrasted with the debased and reversed symbols of our society. Demetrescu was born in Romania in 1924; since 1970, the artist has been living in Italy.’
