The particular friendship between Mahmud and Alon, the protagonists of “Children of Gaza,” is set against the backdrop of the Gaza Strip during the second Intifada in 2003. Palestinian Mahmud and Israeli Alon are united despite everything by their passion for the sea and surfing. This is the red thread of the film, loosely inspired by the children’s novel “On the Waves of Freedom” by Nicoletta Bortolotti (Mondadori). The film, with an Oscar-winning score by Nicola Piovani, will be released on March 28, distributed by Eagle Pictures.
