The second stage of the Road to Meeting 2025 takes us to the worksite of the exhibitions, particularly a major exhibition dedicated to Francis of Assisi, on the occasion of the celebrations for the eight hundredth anniversary of his death, which will end in 2026.
The exhibition's project starts from what interests us most: encouraging an authentic encounter with Brother Francis, the "real" Francis, as free as possible from the thousands of interpretations that over the centuries have tried to appropriate this attractive figure.
To do this, we are working with a first-rate scientific committee, with exponents of the Franciscan world and scholars who have dedicated their lives to the Poverello (Poor Man) of Assisi.
The exhibition will make him, Francis, speak first of all through a document that will be at the center of the entire narrative path, the Testament, which he had designed to indicate to his friars how he would have liked them to walk in his footsteps (or rather, in the footsteps of Christ). Retracing the entire Testament, we will turn our gaze to Clare, a faithful witness of Francis who totally identified with him.
Our bet?
By leaving room for him and his bare words, the saint of Assisi's incredible contemporaneity can emerge.
