MAECI AT THE RIMINI MEETING 2024
Pavilion C3
For the sixth consecutive year, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI) will be present at the Rimini Meeting with a large international pavilion entitled "There is an Italy that Cooperates." The exhibition area will be dedicated to the initiatives of the Italian development cooperation system and its national and international partners. Special attention will be given to Africa and the major projects of Italian Cooperation on the continent.
With a synergistic narrative aligned with the theme chosen by the Meeting Foundation, MAECI's participation will be centered around the concept of essentiality in the four elements of Nature: Earth, Water, Air, and Fire. These elements will be connected – both in content and display – to specific intervention sectors of the Farnesina and the "Sistema Italia" with a focus on development cooperation activities and emergency response. The installations will showcase the new paradigm in the relationship between our country and its partners, especially those in Africa, in continuity with the spirit of the Mattei Plan for Africa.
The MAECI Pavilion will highlight the new strategic direction of Italian development cooperation in Africa and the rest of the world through the presentation of initiatives undertaken in priority sectors. Among these is the "Food For Gaza" initiative, which will occupy the entire section dedicated to fire, projects to ensure access to water and sanitation services, and projects for the mitigation and adaptation to the effects of climate change.
A special installation will emphasize the large-scale project on the sustainable coffee supply chain in Africa developed in partnership with UNIDO and involving Illy and Lavazza. The same space will also provide an overview of the comprehensive partnership with UNIDO and the Italian ITPO UNIDO Office.
An area of the pavilion will be dedicated to illustrating the Farnesina's actions in key sectors such as the promotion of the Italian language, archaeological missions worldwide, the promotion of Italian Cuisine and Design, the Viaggiare Sicuri and Dove Siamo Nel Mondo websites, and the fight against disinformation. The pavilion will also host a children's play area organized by FAO on the theme of water and the INSIEME exhibition curated by AVSI.
In the International Cooperation arena, debates with experts, testimonies, and voices from the field will be organized to discuss various cooperation initiatives and programs.
