Scratch scratch up to the sky

Throughout history, humans have built with a desire to leave their mark, driven by an ideal tension that has pushed them to reach greater heights, ultimately leading to the creation of skyscrapers. The workshop will begin with a brief narrative using images of famous examples of constructions, from pyramids to the skyscrapers of Dubai and Shanghai, each with its own unique shape and story to tell. Subsequently, children will engage in paper and cardboard modeling (considering what happens when a sheet cannot stand upright on its own but can be folded into multiple parts, or what might occur when it becomes wavy). This hands-on experience will demonstrate how certain shapes possess the necessary strength to be used in ambitious structures. To further enhance their understanding, there will be disassembled prototypes of skyscrapers that can be reassembled, allowing the children to play and create ever-changing skylines.
