Something is happening from the east
The meaning of life is something which eludes even the most sophisticated calculations of politicians, judges and common people. It must have happened the same to the very first people who met Jesus Christ. The title of Meeting’93 evokes primarily this encounter: an event which is unforseen just because it is unforseeable. An event which cannot be confined to our thoughts and which breaks all our measures. "The only human answer to the refusal of Christianity is the desire that Christianity takes place once more as an event” (Péguy). Meeting'93 wants to pose first and before all this desire and this question. 'An event within reality' Péguy adds: within nowadays' contradictions which are more drammatically evident in the East where different peoples and cultures, coming from ancient traditions, play an exceptional and remarkable match. This is the second question of Meeting’93.
