MEETING RIMINI FILM FESTIVAL
Award ceremony for the third edition of the international competition of short films organized by the Meeting of Rimini. President of the jury: Alessandro D’Alatri. The competition is organized in collaboration with: Made Officina Creativa, School of Visual Artsof New York, Scuola di Cinema Televisione Nuovi Media of the Civic Schools Foundation of Milan, the magazine Best Movie and the festivals Encuentro Madrid and Karuzela Coolturyof Swinoujscie, Poland.
The international contest dedicated to short films What’s in your city? Tell me a story changes name and becomes Meeting Rimini Film Festival, a review organised by the Meeting for friendship among peoples, in cooperation with Made Officina Creativa, the School of Visual Arts of New York, the Scuola di Cinema, Televisione e Nuovi Media of the Fondazione Scuole Civiche di Milano and Best Movie, the most widespread movie magazine in Italy.
The Meeting Rimini Film Festival, which began in 2008, is an event which was born from the desire to document the extraordinary network of relationships between people coming form all over the world, each August meeting each other for the first time or reuniting at the Rimini Meeting. An interesting opportunity to examine the state of the art in short films, with expert partners capable of guiding the Festival with passion, professionalism and talent in the discovery of this cinema language.
In 2010 the synergies extend to international level, contributing to the birth of a new Festival in Spain, under the auspices of Encuentro Madrid, and one in Poland among the events of the Culture Carousel at Świnoujście. The winning films in these contests enjoy the right of passing directly to the final grades of the Meeting Rimini Film Festival 2010: the winner of the contest wins a free study stage of ten weeks at the School of Visual Arts in New York.
The participating films are 78 in number and come from Australia (1), USA (20), Giappone (1), Italia (26), Spagna (5), Lituania (1), Russia (3) and UK (21)
